Cultural Heritage Technology

The Center for Cultural Heritage Technology (CCHT@Ca’Foscari) of the Italian Institute of Technology aims at researching new technologies for the preservation and conservation of Cultural Heritage materials, expanding and improving current approaches.

The Centre focuses on four well-established competencies of the Italian Institute of Technology, which are Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Robotics and Material Science. Expanding in those domains, the Center engages a strong inter-disciplinary infrastructure, integrating competencies and fostering cutting-edge research.

The interests of the Center cover both tangible and intangible Cultural Heritage. The implementation of new conservative solutions, for ensuring the physical and virtual access of Cultural Heritage assets, are key tasks of the scientific research of the Center. Moving from the conservative needs of Venice's vulnerable Heritage, the Center aims to promote the development of novel technologies, useful in a wider and global context.
