Our research focuses on developing robotic, cutting-edge solutions for museum storage management. With collections continuously growing and limited space, museums are facing challenges in preserving artifacts, safeguarding data, and providing access to the public. To address this issue, our multidisciplinary team is working on a new storage management system. This involves a mobile robotic platform for efficient space utilization and safe movement of objects, as well as robotic arms for cloud-based automatic scanning of artifacts. The innovative solution developed by CCHT aims to optimize available space, reduce operator intervention, and allow regular monitoring of artifacts. It will also conserve data on artifact location and origin, and enable access for the audience.
